Plane Crashes into Palo Alto Home

A small plane crashed into a residential neighborhood in East Palo Alto,Calif., this morning after clipping a power line. The community lies near SanJose in the Silicon Valley.Conditions in the area around the time of the crash were foggy with avisibility under 1/8 of a mile in much of the region.

The incident occurred just to the northwest of Palo Alto Airport just before8:00 a.m. PST, Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010.

CNN reports the home the plane crashed into doubles as a daycare center. Therewere no children at the center at the time of the incident.

At least three people have died as a result of the crash. The crash andsubsequent explosions caused a fire in two homes and destroyed vehicles at thescene.

The crash led to a power outage in the area.
