Nathan Bergstedt and John Schroeder play brothers at odds in "Pistachios." (The Minnesota Star Tribune)

This drama about two brothers by Nathan Bergstedt and John Schroeder takes its time to build, but comes through in the end. Gary is setting up a family reunion, but Marvin doesn't want to come. He has become an atheist, which he knows will shock his devout Lutheran family. The second half finds the duo sitting at the kitchen table, trying to work out what it means for their relationship. The key is that both sides are played as equals, which makes their conversation absorbing. (7 p.m. Mon., 8:30 p.m. Thu., 4 p.m. Fri., 7 p.m. Sun., Huge Theater, 3037 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls.)
