Police bomb experts safely detonated a pipe bomb found inside a mailbox in Carver County on Wednesday evening.
Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said that deputies responded at 7:30 p.m. to a report of an undetonated pipe bomb found inside a mailbox near the intersection of County Roads 20 and 127 in Watertown Township.
Bomb technicians from the Bloomington Police Department called to the scene safely detonated the device, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies collected debris and checked the area for additional undetonated devices, or other evidence.
No one was injured, and there was no permanent property damage, the Sheriff’s Office said. An investigation continues.
