Biting cold will persist today over states housing roughly a third of thenation's 300 million people.For people who live in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Syracuse, itwill feel like the single digits. This will be due to highs near or in the 20salong with blustery winds.

Not much better, Kansas City, St Louis and Cincinnati will feel as cold as 10 Fmost of the time.

The weather will not be quite as harsh as recent days along the EasternSeaboard, where highs will finally return to the 30s. Still, with a gustybreeze, Boston to New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., will feellike the 20s and even the teens at times.

Yet another cold blast will impact millions of people later this week, and thisarctic air mass will originate from even deeper in the Arctic. Residents of theGreat Lakes region will deal with lake-effect snow showers and heavier snowbands with the persistent blasts of frigid air, while people who live in thesouthern Plains and Florida will likely deal with another freeze.
