For the second time in three days, a vehicle has crashed through the wall of a suburban restaurant.
A pickup crashed into the Grand Grill & Pizzeria in Oak Park Heights on Monday morning, nearly hitting two patrons, said owner Missy Dowdall. The vehicle's hood and grill were pushed into the restaurant, she said.
The male driver lost control of the pickup because of an unknown medical condition, said Chief Brian DeRosier of the Oak Park Heights Police Department. Officers witnessed the crash, he said.
The patrons suffered minor injuries; "substantial damage" was done to the restaurant, DeRosier said. Dowdall said she hoped to reopen the restaurant by Friday.
A similar incident occurred in Rosemount on Saturday evening when a woman smashed her car into the front of Celt's Irish Pub & Grill, injuring herself and four others.
