Pickup kills man walking on Hwy. 61 south of Hastings

A 23-year-old man was run over by a pickup truck and killed while walking in the southbound lane of a dark road south of Hastings, authorities said Monday.

The pickup hit Adam M. Stein, of Hampton, about 4:30 a.m. Sunday on Hwy. 61 at 220th Street, according to the State Patrol. Stein was dead at the scene.

Uninjured were the driver, Sai Kao Yang, 76, and his passenger, Pa Vang, 58, both of St. Paul, the patrol said.
