Pickup driver strikes railroad overpass in Cottage Grove, is killed

The crash occurred about noon Monday, according to police.

A pickup truck got stuck while trying to pass under a railroad overpass in Cottage Grove, leaving the driver dead inside his vehicle, authorities said.

The crash occurred about noon Monday in the 6500 block of 103rd Street, just north of the Mississippi Dunes golf course, according to police.

Identification of the driver has yet to be released pending notification of family.

A caller alerted authorities to the crash scene and said the driver was in the pickup and unresponsive, police said. Paramedics arrived and declared him dead at the scene.
