Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic

What: National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic. Billed as the nation's largest gathering of upland conservationists, the event will feature habitat symposiums, fundraising banquets and more than 300 exhibitors, as well as seminars with topics ranging from dog training to habitat building and wild game cooking.

Where: Minneapolis Convention Center

When: Friday through Sunday

Highlights: A bird-dog parade, free and open to the public, featuring a wide array of sporting breeds and their owners kicks off Pheasant Fest at 11:15 Friday morning. A national pollinator symposium follows at 12:30 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, the National Pheasant Summit begins at 10 a.m. Fundraisers for which tickets are required include a 5 p.m. Bird Hunters Banquet Friday at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis, a Conservation Luncheon at noon Saturday and the National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic Banquet Saturday at 6 p.m., both at the convention center. Admission: $10 daily; service members are free, as are children younger than 5.

Hours: Friday, noon-8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
