Peterson tests ankle

The running back came out just after 10 a.m. to see how his sprained ankle felt.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was on the field for just more than five minutes a little after 10 a.m. this morning testing his sprained right ankle as coach Leslie Frazier, athletic trainer Eric Sugarman and running backs coach Eric Bieniemy watched.

Bieniemy put Peterson through drills that required him to cut as he would when running the ball and also going out on routes. Peterson did appear to have a bit of a hitch at times. When Peterson was done he talked to Frazier, Sugarman, Bieniemy and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. Rick Spielman, Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman later joined the conversation.

Peterson, who sprained the ankle last Sunday at Washington, then left the field and the others remained and continued to discuss the situation. We'll get inactives at 10:30 a.m.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
