Peterson's back at practice

The All-Pro running back returned after his paternity leave.

August 5, 2011 at 2:59PM

With Adrian Peterson Jr. safe and sound, Adrian Peterson Sr. returned to the practice field today following the birth of his first son, and second child.

Peterson went through the morning walk through and presumably will get his first full-pad workout this afternoon at 3 here in Mankato. He left the team Monday for his son's birth, with the blessings of coach Leslie Frazier.

The Vikings also made a roster move this morning, adding defensive tackle Colby Whitlock of Texas Tech and cutting receiver Ryan Lincoln. Whitlock was signed by the Broncos last week, then released on Tuesday.

We'll have an update when the walkthrough ends.
