Peterson reacts to Chris Johnson's 2,000-yard season

Peterson said he still thinks he's the NFL's top running back

Adrian Peterson responded to a question Friday by turning the question around on the reporter.

Peterson was asked who is a better running back, him or Tennessee's Chris Johnson, who rushed for 2,006 yards last season.

"Who do you think?" Peterson replied. The media member picked Peterson but said Johnson thinks he's the best. "Does he?" Peterson said. "It's funny because before he even had that awesome season -- running for 2,000 yards, that's impressive – I told him how my view is. I view myself as the best running back and the best player that's going to be able to play this game. I told him to be able to accomplish those things, that's something you have to envision in yourself or it's not going to happen. So that answers your question." Peterson said Johnson's 2,000-yard season does not serve as any extra motivation for him. "I'm motivated to hit it each year," he said. "Seeing him doing it was nice. I was excited for him. But I'm motivated at all times."
