Eagan's Ryan Peterson was the fifth and final Minnesotan eliminated at this year's U.S. Amateur golf tournament, falling 3 & 2 at Erin Hills in Erin, Wis., on Thursday to Ben Geyer of Arbuckle, Calif., in the first round of match play.

Peterson and Don Constable of Deephaven had made the 36-hole cut, winnowing the annual field from 312 golfers to the low 64 scores, earlier in the week. Constable was also defeated 3 & 2 in his first-round match.

Stroke-play medalist Gregor Main also was eliminated in the first round of match play.
