Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson limped to the locker room at the two-minute warning in the second quarter Sunday against Chicago. He returned to the game late in the third quarter.

Peterson was hurt after a nine-yard run when Chicago linebackers Shea McClellin and Pernell McPhee landed awkwardly on Peterson's legs.

Peterson limped off the field favoring his left leg. He eventually walked to the locker room on his own with a slight limp, later announced as an ankle injury.

Before leaving the game, Peterson had 12 carries for 56 yards to help the Vikings build a 17-7 halftime lead.

Vikings starting right cornerback Xavier Rhodes was also injured in the second quarter. He received treatment on the sideline and eventually returned for the Bears' final possession of the half.
