'A Life of Serious Nonsense'

Theatre of Fools presents this Christmas story about the perseverance of love. Josette Antomarchi directs Rosie Cole and Lloyd Brant, a team dedicated to clowning and theater. This work is built on a show within a show, which allows Cole and Brant to explore the experience of living with another clown. More event details.

The darker side of the holidays gets lampooned in this one-woman show co-written and performed by Janelle Ranek, an independent-theater vet known for multi-character, improv-heavy work. Ranek brings her twisted cast of characters -- including a Jesus-loving cat lady and a martini-swilling, chain-smoking old broad who gives bawdy advice -- to the Bryant-Lake Bowl stage under the direction of longtime collaborator (and co-writer) Jules Weiland. With "Letters to Santa," the pair takes an uncensored look at the jumble of traditions and commercialism that makes up the holiday season. More event details.
