Daniel Tosh
At first glance Tosh seems like a throwaway. His Comedy Central show "Tosh.0" sees the frat-boy-handsome funnyman riffing on viral videos. But what sounds like a callous network cash-grab is actually brazenly hilarious, as evidenced by the show's overtaking "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" as Comedy Central's most-watched. Tosh knows the "Grand Theft Auto" Generation is desensitized and he counters with a taboo-assaulting humor arsenal -- think abortion, suicide, etc. He's taking said arsenal on the 60-city "Tosh Tour Twenty Ten," a stand-up jaunt that'll tide fans over until season three of "Tosh.0" begins airing next January. Tim & Eric Awesome Tour, Great Job!
Taking inspiration from cable access television, late-night infomercials and probably "Kids in the Hall," Adult Swim's "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!" has become an unlikely hit. The show created by and starring Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim debuted in 2007 with a cast of characters played by the likes of John C. Reilly, Weird Al Yankovic, David Cross and Zach Galifianakis. The show's meteoric rise has included two nationwide tours, an upcoming holiday special ("Tim and Eric's Chrimbus Special"), and an upcoming movie to be co-produced by Will Ferrell -- not to mention celebs clamoring to make guest appearances on the show. For the tour, subtitled "Chrimbus Spectacular 2010," expect dad references, Wharf & P'kard of "Star Trek" imagery, "Jaws" appearances, mispronounced words and general awkwardness. The king of stand-up antihumor, Neil Hamburger, will open, and Pusswhip Banggang will play classic songs from the show. More event details.
