Expect fair skies in the Twin Cities through Labor Day.

“Once you go through the gates there is no such thing as calories!” the vendor at the deep-fried chocolate Pop-Tart-on-a-stick assured me. I was skeptical, but he had me at Pop-Tart.

I’m a meteorologist and foodie influencer [in my mind] and I enjoyed the pickle pizza, cheese curds and Nutella and strawberry crêpes under a flawless blue sky with low humidity. And yes, I’m taking full credit for nice weather.

A fleeting shower can’t be ruled out Wednesday, mainly from the Arrowhead into northern Wisconsin. Otherwise, expect fair skies for the fair from Thursday into Labor Day. It’s an end-of-summer miracle.

A few non-Minnesotans may complain that it’s too cool for the lake, but I see upper 70s giving way to low 80s by Labor Day. Dew points will remain in the 50s, so no whining about the humidity. Rain and thunderstorms next week Tuesday will give way to another cool swipe. I see no extended heat bubbles in sight.

I left the fair with Sweet Martha’s memories (two buckets of cookies), bypassing the packed Ozempic stand. Wait, no free samples?
