A convicted pedophile who kept child pornography on his home computer was given a 10-year stayed sentence and ordered to serve 90 days in the Ramsey County workhouse.
Cyrus Amundson, 34, of St. Paul pleaded guilty May 5 to possession of child pornography by a predatory offender. He was convicted in 1997 of molesting a 6-year-old girl.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County District Court, police searched Amundson's home in the 1000 block of Beech Street in January after a woman who lived downstairs reported that her apartment had been burglarized. Officers found a picture of a nude child on his computer and pornographic video images of children from ages 9 to 11, and 14 to 16.
District Judge James Clark also ordered Amundson to register as a predatory offender for the rest of his life, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and have no contact with children or access to the Internet.
