Pedestrian struck by State Patrol car in St. Paul

A Minneapolis man suffered minor injuries after being struck by a Minnesota State Patrol car while crossing the street in St. Paul early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Dale Street and St. Anthony Avenue around 2:42 a.m., according to a State Patrol report.

Pedestrian Quincy Courts, 22, was in the crosswalk on Dale Street as the light turned green, when the squad car was preparing to turn left onto St. Anthony Avenue. Trooper Peter Schultz, 28, failed to see Courts while making the turn.

Courts was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with noncritical injuries, while Schultz was unharmed.
