A man gravely injured Feb. 28 when he was hit by a car in the Uptown area of Minneapolis has died, the Hennepin County medical examiner reported.

Scott M. Moskal, 56, of Los Angeles, formerly of Minneapolis, was trying to cross Lagoon Avenue S. just before 8:30 p.m. when he was hit by a car that was turning onto Lagoon from James Avenue, police said.

Moskal was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with critical head injuries. He died March 1, the medical examiner said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Moskal stopped and cooperated with police.

According to family and friends posting on social media, Moskal, who worked at Warner Bros. Entertainment in Los Angeles, was in Minneapolis to attend the March 2 funeral of his father, George Moskal. His own memorial service was held Thursday in Minneapolis.
