Pedestrian killed by semi on 35W in Blaine is identified

A man who was run over by a semitrailer truck and killed while walking in a traffic lane on Interstate 35W in Blaine was identified Thursday afternoon.

Michael R. Rasmussen, 20, of Circle Pines, was hit shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the right-hand lane of northbound I-35W at Lexington Avenue, according to the State Patrol.

The truck driver, Jonathan Kalis, 42, of Little Falls, Minn., was not hurt.
