The Hennepin County medical examiner's office has identified the man struck and killed near Centennial Lakes Park Sunday night as Mark Gmitro, 65, of Edina.
Gmitro was hit in the northbound lanes of France Avenue near Minnesota Drive in Edina around 8:50 p.m. Sunday. He died at the scene, police said.
The 54-year-old driver who hit him stopped and is cooperating with police. The driver was not impaired, police said.
