Police in Brooklyn Park are investigating after a person crossing a street was struck and killed Wednesday morning.

The victim, 55, was hit by a vehicle while crossing 85th Avenue at Adair Avenue. Police say the 65-year-old driver is cooperating.

Officers came upon the victim around 6:30 a.m. and tried to help the victim, who died at the scene, police said.

Neither the victim's name nor gender has been released.

It does not appear drugs or alcohol were involved, said police department spokesman Eric Nelson.
