Call it a mini Camp Snoopy, if only for a day.

On Tuesday, the Hollywood machine behind the new "Peanuts" movie hits St. Paul's Landmark Plaza like a line drive from Peppermint Patty.

The 3-D animated film, in theaters Nov. 6, is bringing some buzz back to legendary cartoonist Charles M. Schulz's cast of characters. Not that we ever forgot here in Minnesota, the birthplace of Schulz and his influential comic strip.

On Tuesday afternoon, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman will present the late "Peanuts" creator's son, Craig Schulz, with a proclamation making Oct. 20, 2015, "Charles M. Schulz Day."

The presentation will kick off the public event, dubbed the Peanuts Fall Festival. In addition to Craig Schulz, who produced and co-wrote "The Peanuts Movie," the film's voice cast also will be in attendance for a red carpet affair.

For parents and kids, there will be photos with Snoopy, a Halloween-themed bouncy house, trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, face-painting, plus food trucks and beer and wine (for the adults, of course). The first 300 kids receive a Charlie Brown lunch bag.
