Let the cannibalizing begin. Hours after former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's top campaign staff quit his already-shaky presidential campaign Thursday, Tim Pawlenty announced that he had snagged former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue. Until today, Perdue was Gingrich's national campaign co-chair. The former Minnesota governor might have had the inside track with Perdue. Pawlenty's presidential campaign manager, Nick Ayers, was a close Perdue aide for years, helping him win two elections in Georgia. It's not clear yet what Perdue will do on the Pawlenty campaign, other than "join its national efforts."
