A 66-year-old driver went off the road in Excelsior, struck a tree and was killed Sunday morning, authorities said.
The crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. along northbound Hwy. 41 near Tanadoona Drive, according to the State Patrol.
The driver, Gary R. Pennebaker, of Chaska, was taken to a nearby medical facility and died there, the patrol said.
