Pass rush gives Vikings a shot in Chicago

Only Giants have more sacks (18) than the Vikings (16).

The Vikings are 1-9 in their past 10 trips to Illinois. However, if you watched the mess that the Bears have suddenly become, one has to think the Vikings present a problem for Chicago.

Actually, two problems.

The Vikings can run the ball. And the Vikings can rush the passer. The Bears spent Monday night's loss in Detroit completely unable to stop the run and pass protect.

Jay Cutler basically starts running for his life the second the ball is snapped. The only time he's actually safe behind the line is when the officials blow the whistle for a false start.

Here are the NFL's top five teams in sacks:

1, Giants (3-2) 18

2, Vikings (1-4) 16

Eagles (1-4) 16

4, Redskins (3-1) 15

Texans (3-2) 15

Here are the NFL's bottom five in sacks. Two of them are 4-1, so it's obviously not the only ingredient needed for Ws:

1, Cardinals (1-4) 4

2, Bills (4-1) 5

Chargers (4-1) 5

Chiefs (2-3) 5

Seahawks (2-3) 5
