Heavy rain last week prevented MnDOT crews from completing their work on Hwy. 100 in St. Louis Park over the weekend, so they'll be back on the job Tuesday night.

Both directions of Hwy. 100 will be reduced to a single lane between between Excelsior Boulevard and Minnetonka Boulevard from 8 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday, when two lanes will be open to drivers. Crews will move the barriers and shift traffic to the east side of Hwy 100.

Once the traffic shift is complete, the ramp from southbound Hwy. 100 to 36th Street and Excelsior Boulevard will close. There won't be enough distance for motorists to safely use the current ramp, MnDOT said.

Crews will build a temporary ramp to Excelsior Boulevard, which will open in about a week, weather permitting. The ramp to W. 36th Street won't reopen until the fall. During the closures, motorists should exit on Minnetonka Boulevard or 50th St. to access 36th Street or Excelsior Boulevard.
