'Six Characters in Search of an Author'

Opening: Playwright Alan Berks has updated this quirky work by Luigi Pirandello for the 21st century. On the set of a reality TV show, six people suddenly present themselves not as humans but as characters formed in the imagination of the author. The setting and the dramatic discussion, of course, lend themselves to questions of what's real and what is fake in a world that increasingly makes theater out of daily life. Berks directs a cast that includes Sam Landman, Adam Whisner, Sandra Struthers, Dana Lee Thompson and Kiara Jackson. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 2 p.m. Sun., 7:30 p.m. Wed.-Thu. Ends May 8. Boss Thrust at Park Square, 20 W. 7th Pl., St. Paul. $40-$60. 651-291-7005 or parksquaretheatre.org)
