Park senior captain Jenna Joswiak dedicates herself to assisting others. Joswiak, who was diagnosed with diabetes at age 8, skipped her senior year of volleyball to work as a counselor last summer at a camp for diabetic children. She volunteers on weekends at St. Paul Children's Hospital, where she spends time with kids who have epilepsy.

Has diabetes made basketball tougher for you? I'm not sure if diabetes makes basketball tougher, but basketball definitely makes diabetes tougher. It's a lot of work to try to manage exercise, the adrenaline, just keeping everything in check is really hard.

Thoughts on Park's performance this year (18-8)? So proud of everyone. We've been basically a team plus or minus a few people the last three years. We've seen each other at our worst and at our best.

What is your role with this team? I lead by example more than anything else. On the court, I personally enjoy getting others open.

Your favorite high school sports moment? This year when we finally beat Woodbury, and it was at Woodbury. All the teams won (ninth grade, junior varsity and varsity). We got back on the bus, and out of nowhere, our assistant coach had a broom and started yelling, "sweep, sweep, sweep."

Any secret talents? I can juggle just about anything.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
