Park activity registration gets easier

The Minneapolis park board streamlines the search and signup process for hundreds of activities

Searching and registering for any of hundreds of Minneapolis Park and Recreation board activities got easier Thursday with an update of the agency's website.

Users will find it now easier to pinpoint activities from youth football to yoga, or candle-making to creative writing, using keywords and age categories, said spokeswoman Robin Smothers. The site also enables people to reserve park facilities and to buy various passes and gift cards.

The update refines the site the district has been using for the past four years.

People looking for an activity and wishing to sign up can also do it in several traditional ways -- by visiting their local recreation center or calling the park board's main telephone number, 612-230-6400.
