The hype machine already has been turned on but today the Vikings will begin preparations for Favre v. Packers I

You know it's going to be an interesting day when you see satellite trucks parked outside Winter Park at 9 in the morning and access doesn't begin until 11:45.

Today, will mark the first big day of preparations for the Vikings game Monday night against the Packers. The center of attention today -- who am I kidding, he's the center of attention every day -- will be former Packers legend, turned Vikings quarterback Brett Favre. Favre will hold his weekly news conference around the lunch hour so that should be interesting.

Favre will speak to the Green Bay media on a conference call in the late morning. We also will hear from Vikings coach Brad Childress and Chip will be talking to players in the locker room.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will speak to the Twin Cities media on a conference call at about 1:30 p.m. and coach Mike McCarthy will be on the phone around 1:40 p.m.

The Vikings also issued a press release promising a "significant business announcement" today. Best guess is this will have something to do with the Metrodome. Keep in mind, the team held a news conference last week to announce it had come to agreements for two of the gates at the dome to be sponsored.
