October 9, 2010 at 7:25PM

The Northwest will not escape receiving rain from a Pacific storm systemthis weekend, but drier weather will prevail Monday into Wednesday as an areaof high pressure provides a roadblock against a train of Pacific storms. The high will settle over the Northwest on Monday in the wake of this weekend'sstorm system. With that high firmly in place into Wednesday, a parade ofPacific storms will be forced northward. The British Columbia coast and theAlaskan Panhandle will instead become the target of the storms.

The high will shift eastward later in the week, opening the door for Pacificstorms to swing back into the Northwest.
