Work on replacing the overpasses at Park and Portland Avenue on I-94 in Minneapolis begins at 9 a.m. Monday. Both city streets will be closed for approximately 3 months. Detours for northbound traffic is via Chicago Avenue while southbound traffic is being diverted to 3rd Avenue.

In conjunction with that project, there will be freeway closings this week to allow crews to demolish the current bridges. Here is what will be closed:

At 10 p.m. Monday, eastbound I-94 between the I-35W/94 split and Highway 55 will close.

At 10 p.m. Tuesday, northbound I-35W between Hwy. 65 and Park Avenue will close.

At 10 p.m. Wednesday, southbound I-35W between Hwy. 55 and Franklin Avenue will close.

At 10 p.m. Thursday, westbound I-94 between Hwy. 280 and Hwy. 65/35W will close.

All lanes will re-open by 5 a.m. on the following day, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
