Overall Storm Impact in the Northeast

The most intense snow and wind from a strengthening nor'easter will thump areasfrom northeastern Pennsylvania through central New York later today intoFriday. The mountains of northern New England will also get a very heavy doseof snow from the storm.Eastern New England will get soaked by rain today. Overnight, wet snow will mixin across southern New England. By Friday, a wintry mix will also fallthroughout the rest of eastern New England, including in Portland and Bangor,Maine.

High winds will add to the miserable weather by causing a windswept rain andwindblown snow, making travel conditions even more dangerous. Coastal floodingand beach erosion will result from the strong onshore winds in eastern NewEngland.
