Thankfully, the weather this weekend will be much quieter in areas thatdesperately need a break. The Northeast and the Southeast will have a mostlysunny sky prevail with just a few snow showers in the mountains of theNortheast. The clear sky will extend across the south and into the Southwest ashigh pressure dominates. There will be a weak storm dropping south from Canada brining some light snowto the Midwest. More very cold air will move in behind the storm. Some snowshowers are expected in the northern Rockies with a front slowly moving throughthe area.

Yet more wet weather is in store for the Pacific Northwest as another stormmove onshore. The interior West will have some light precipitation Saturday, but drier weather is expected Sunday.

In all, this weekend will bring a much needed break for much of the countrywith no major storms expected. However, cold will continue for most of theeastern half of the country.
