Outlook for the Weekend

December 11, 2009 at 8:25PM

That storm shown in the East might look threatening, but don't lose any sleepover it. The disturbance will remain weak, and odds are it won't be able toproduce any heavy snow.A storm will bring rain to California this weekend, and heavy snow will fall inthe Sierra Nevada. The mountains of Utah and Colorado will pick up severalinches of snow later in the weekend.

The cold air entering the northern tier of the country this weekend is bigleague stuff. During the day Sunday, temperatures will plunge below zero inMontana and western North Dakota, and it may get to 30 below Sunday night.
