Dispatch: Outdoor Adventure Expo

Midwest Mountaineering's spring and fall mainstay — the Outdoor Adventure Expo — is being held Friday through Sunday at the Minneapolis store (309 Cedar Av. S) and at the University of Minnesota.

"This is really going to be a great expo. Everything about it is good," said manager Rudi Hargesheimer.

There are a mulitude of speakers and clinics on topics ranging from standup paddleboarding to personal outdoors adventures. Two presenters are David and Amy Freeman, the Minnesota couple who paddled, sailed and portaged from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to Washington, D.C., in 2014 to draw attention to the protection of the BWCA. National Geographic named the Freemans its 2014 Adventurers of the Year.
