Otter Tail Lake Fishing Report

Fish are biting in deeper water in the Otter Tail Lake area during the day.

December 8, 2009 at 7:54PM

Bite on Otter Tail Lake is 20 to 30 feet on mid-lake humps with crawlers or leeches. Crank baits are working in the evening in only 7 to 8 feet of water. A number 5 Rapula in purple, bleeding pearl or fire tiger are your best colors.
When using crawlers or leeches, use a spinner to improve your catch. Colors that work best are blue/white, yellow/orange or chartreuse.
Panfish are really starting to go in 15 feet of water on the nearby lakes.
In the past week, the area has been hit by 5 inches of rain and cooler temps. Water surface temp has dropped from 74 to 65 degrees in that time. So talking to the local bait shops is important on knowing what is happening where.
It's not too late to schedule a fall vacation at the resorts and have some great fall fishing. Give us a call for the latest update - 218-495-2895.
