NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. — Otter Tail County sheriff's officials say one man is dead of gunshot wounds and the apparent shooter is on life support at a hospital.

Sheriff's deputies initially said both men had died in the shooting near New York Mills Wednesday night. Later Thursday, authorities said the apparent gunman, a 23-year-old, is in critical condition at a St. Cloud hospital and on life support after fatally shooting a 20-year-old man and turning the gun on himself.

A 21-year-old woman made the 911 call after shots were fired.
