One slain, two injured in Mpls., St. Paul shootings
In Minneapolis, police responding to reports of a shooting about 7:30 p.m. at 26th and Dupont Avenues N. found a man dead in the street, said Sgt. Steve McCarty. The person who called about the gunfire provided police with information about possible suspects and police were questioning two men Tuesday night, he said.
In St. Paul, two men shot each other about 6:15 p.m., leaving at least one of them with life-threatening injuries.
Both men were taken to Regions Hospital, said St. Paul police spokesman Howie Padilla.
One man reportedly was standing in the doorway of an apartment building near Minnehaha and Fairview Avenues and the other was standing in the street when they shot at each other, Padilla said. The two apparently knew each other but investigators don't know what provoked the shooting, he said.
