One shot at Brooklyn Center transit hub

March 30, 2015 at 2:03AM

Authorities are investigating a shooting Sunday night at a Metro Transit hub in Brooklyn Center.

About 7 p.m., a male was shot in the abdominal area and taken to an area hospital, police Sgt. Mike Coleman said.

Police still were looking for the suspect.

Coleman said the shooting did not appear to be random. But, he added, many of the people who were at the transit center at 2900 County Road 10 left after the shooting occurred. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 763-569-3333.

Coleman did not know the victim's condition, but said: "He was talking and alert when we were on scene with him."

About 8:15 p.m., the hub remained closed for the investigation, but buses still were running, and people were being directed to nearby stops.

Metro Transit police and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office were assisting in the investigation.
