One man was wounded Thursday night in a volley of gunfire near a north Minneapolis park.

Officers were called to the area near Glen Gale Park and 24th and Irving avenues N. about 8:45 p.m. after a ShotSpotter activation. Minneapolis police found shell casings at the scene, but the shooter or shooters had fled, said police spokesman John Elder.

A man was taken by acquaintances to Hennepin County Medical Center and treated for noncritical injuries, Elder said.

Scanner traffic indicated that at least 13 shots were fired.
