One man dead, one injured at north Minneapolis party

August 19, 2012 at 3:46AM

An early-morning party in north Minneapolis left one man dead from an apparent gunshot and another wounded Saturday.

Minneapolis police were called to a home on the 2100 block of Penn Avenue N., around 3 a.m. on a report of a shooting, said Sgt. Stephen McCarty. They found one man dead and another wounded. The injured man was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with noncritical injuries.

No one has been arrested, but McCarty said there is no indication that the general public is at risk.

The shooting was the city's 19th homicide, McCarty said.

Homicide investigators are interviewing several witnesses about what happened before the incident.

Police ask anybody who has information about the case to call 612-692-8477.
