One person was killed and two were injured in a car-bus collision on eastbound Interstate 94 near Lowry Avenue in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon, the State Patrol said.

The patrol said a car was traveling south on I-94 about 5:45 p.m. when it lost traction and spun out. A Metro Transit bus driven by Johnette Rosa McPherson broadsided the car. She was the only person on the bus.

The crash killed Rashid Mohamed Faqid, 30, of Minneapolis, who was riding in the front seat. The driver, who hasn't been identified, and Ahmed Abdi Ibrahim, 23, were taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. Ibrahim, of Minneapolis, was a rear-seat passenger.

The extent of their injuries was not known Sunday night.
