Perhaps hoping to reach the screaming pre-teen girls of the next decade, One Direction has taped an appearance on the 45th season of "Sesame Street," a preview clip of which was issued today by the fine folks at PBS. The show won't air until the fall, but there should be plenty of hype in the meantime thanks to this teaser. It shows the British boy band reworking their mega-hit "What Makes You Beautiful" into a song about the letter U. Get it?

"Twenty-six letters are in the alphabet, but we're here to sing about you," the fabbiest of the Fab Five, Harry Styles, sings in the clip.

The 1D lads will be part of what sounds like a rather stellar season of guests on "SS 45," with other rumored names including Tina Fey, Janelle Monae and Macklemore. We can only imagine the educational knock-off opportunities in "Thrift Shop."
