A man was shot to death Thursday afternoon in north Minneapolis, and three suspects were arrested shortly afterward, police said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was found outdoors with a gunshot wound to the chest when officers arrived at the scene in the 3700 block of N. 6th Street about 12:45 p.m.

Hennepin County sheriff's deputies who were in the area heard gunshots and saw a vehicle speeding away. Deputies stopped the car and arrested the driver and a passenger; another passenger fled on foot but was found with the help of an officer using a K-9. Several handguns were found in the vehicle, police said.

Investigators and police chaplains were in the area Thursday talking to residents.
