One dead in crash near Hutchinson

One occupant of a passenger vehicle was killed, the patrol said.

A 44-year-old man from Hutchinson, Minn., was killed early Friday in a crash with a semitrailer truck north of Hutchinson, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 7 a.m. on Hwy. 15 near the border between Meeker and McLeod counties, where a 2003 Ford Taurus and a semi collided, according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the Taurus died at the scene. His name has not been released. The semi driver, Cary Hansen, 55, of Ames, Iowa, was not hurt.
