May 2, 2014 at 4:07AM

One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Chanhassen on Thursday afternoon, according to the Carver County Sheriff's Office.

An eastbound van hit the guardrail on Flying Cloud Drive, swerved into westbound traffic and struck a car about 4 p.m., a sheriff's spokesman said.

The driver from the westbound car died at the scene, which was near the intersection of Stoughton Avenue.

The driver of the van, which rolled, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. No information was available on that person's injuries Thursday night.

The State Patrol is reconstructing the crash to assist the Carver County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating.

Names of those involved in the crash had not been released late Thursday.
