Drivers of both vehicles, who were belted, had noncritical injuries.

A woman died Monday in Plymouth when the vehicle she was riding in jumped a center median and collided with a motorist heading the opposite direction, police said.

Officers and a State Patrol reconstruction team are trying to figure out what caused an Oldsmobile Alero that was traveling eastbound on Rockford Road to cross over into westbound traffic and strike a westbound Mercury Villager near the intersection of Northwest Boulevard.

Anna Isler, 25, of Edina, was riding in the Alero and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, reported at 2:21 p.m. She died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the Alero, Olusegun Eboreime, 26, of Brooklyn Park, was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with noncritical injuries, police said.

Alan Simons, 79, of Plymouth, the driver of the Villager, also was taken to the hospital with noncritical injuries. Both Eboreime and Simons were wearing seat belts.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, police said, but they are asking anybody who saw the incident to call them at 763-509-5160.
