One teenager died and three other people were injured early Saturday morning in a car crash in Sibley County, authorities said.

According to the State Patrol, a pickup truck was headed west and a car was headed east when the vehicles collided just after 1 a.m. on Hwy. 19 near 441st Avenue in Dryden Township.

The driver of the car, Mya Jean Maus, 17, of Henderson, Minn., died at the scene, while three males in the truck were taken to HCMC. Two of them had injuries that authorities described as life-threatening.

Maus was the only person in the accident wearing a seat belt. Road conditions were dry, but the incident report doesn’t say what caused the crash.
